Sieg cycle route

Discover new experiences, be active, enjoy nature along the Sieg cycle route. From Windeck to its confluence of the Sieg with the Rhine, the route travels along newly-built paths right through the Sieg natural landscape. Moderate ascents and the constant proximity to the river also make the route suitable for families and leisure cyclists.

Whether you are a well-trained cyclist who wants to cover the 64 km-long path on a day trip or just want to visit a few destinations by bike, all the sites along the route are easily accessible for cyclists on the no. 12 S-Bahn urban train line and the RE9 regional line. For more details, see the tour app. Anyone wanting to cycle for longer distances can combine the route with the Rhine cycle route, the Ahr valley route or the Bergisches Land region panorama route towards the Ruhr valley cycle route.

The Sieg river is always within sight along the way, and is worth exploring. Watch the salmon at the fish ladder in Buisdorf, admire the Sieg waterfall in Windeck-Schladern, or bathe in the Sieg waters near Mondorf. The advantage of the proximity to the river is that here, ascents are only slight and are easy to manage even for untrained cyclists.
The quality accommodation facilities along the way offer coffee and cake, a snack or a hearty meal. You’ll find the right place to stay here if you are embarking on a multi-day tour.
