Langer Eugen

An insinuation in common parlance

National and international educational institutions have established in the former chamber of deputies in this multi-storey building in the meantime.  This multi-storey building with a height of 114 metres, in common parlance called „Langer Eugen“ (an insinuation to the small body height of the former President of the Bundestag, Eugen Gerstenmaier, in whose term of office the building was erected), was erected as the chamber of deputies from 1966 – 1969 according to the plans of architect Egon Eiermann. Today, national and international educational institutions are situated in the “Langer Eugen”. All around this building “Langer Eugen” a UN campus is being established at present, which will form an international conference location for all UN institutions having settled in Bonn.
